What beauty to unveil?
"The most beautiful ship in the world"
The problem was being able to get a detailed survey of the School Ship's masts without stopping the training activity that sees the "Vespucci" sail the seas around the world every year.
How did we unveil it?
Tireless study, insight and dedication
The survey presented not insignificant problems, since the classic way of working was to disassemble the masts and make a perfect copy of them down to the smallest detail (nails, connecting elements, "special" parts below deck and in the bilge, etc.). The survey we returned was made, with specially designed solutions, without removing the ship's masts. This allowed the La Spezia Arsenal technicians to rebuild the new masts while the Vespucci was in scheduled navigation.
The new masts were then replaced when the Vespucci returned to the Arsenal for the usual maintenance period.
